[link] It was the time when I was struggling with figuring out my style of drawing, and I was influenced both by American Cartoons and Japanese Mangas, which I couldn't really decide which way I should go. The biggest difference is the style of drawing, I now have chosen a clear path for the style, but also I improved a lot in figure drawing, so now I can be so much more in control of the figures. I now can keep the inking nice and clean, I can work with colors professionally.
The picture was intended to be the cover for a chess book for children and was rejected by the editor. The idea is when you play chess, imagine they're little soldiers fighting for their country, it'll be so much more interesting. It's not an outstanding idea, but as I recall, not many people have done it visually, and I think it'll be a good idea to put it on a chess book.
